December is a month marked by many holidays: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Bodhi Day, etc. For pagans, Wiccans and many of the older religions, it is the time we celebrate the season of Yule, which also marks the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the shortest day and longest night of the year. The average adult human body is made up of 50-65% water. Babies are made up of even more, typically around 75-78% water, dropping to 65% by one year of age. Fatty tissue contains less water than lean tissue, so our body composition determines what percentage of water we contain, but we ARE made of water and water is essential for life.
